Prof. Dr. Raid A. Ismail is a professor at the University of Technology in Iraq. He got his B.Sc. from Mustansiriyah University, Baghdad, Iraq, in 1986. He got his M.Sc in laser material processing in 1991. He got his PhD in laser applications and photodetectors from the University of Technology, Baghdad, Iraq, in 1995. He supervised more than 73 M.Sc and PhD theses. He published more than 175 articles in Scopus and Clarivate journals and more than 40 articles in local journals. He is a member of the editorial board of two international journals. He has been awarded eight patents in the field of photodetectors. Research interesting fields: nanomaterials, photodetectors, solar cells, nonlinear crystals, thin films, and laser applications. Prof. Raid is now the Head of the Applied Science Department at the University of Technology.
